8 Week (MBSR) Course - This 8 week course, held 3 times each year in winter, spring and fall requires a 30-45 minute daily commitment to mindfulness practice and inquiry. We begin with simple mindfulness practices of bringing a kind attention to our own body sensations and breath through the body scan practice. We expand our focus to include awareness during ordinary daily activities including moving, eating and interacting. Following brief audio-guided meditation instruction each day and doing what the course asks you to do, you will recognize a significant increase in your overall health and well-being. Practicing mindfulness on a regular basis brings ease and well-being to our own minds and bodies and contributes not only to your own happiness and ease but to that of others. This course led by Diana Shimkus, LCSW is offered in North County Encinitas at the Soul of Yoga. The FALL 2018 course will begin on Wednesday, SEPT. 26 - NOV. 14 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM and POSSIBLY Fridays from 9:30 - 11:30 AM, SEPT. 28 - NOV. 16. The Mindful All-Day Retreat for the FALL course will be on Saturday, NOVEMBER 3rd, 2018 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Weekly Meditations - Practice with a community is an essential support in developing and sustaining mindfulness. The Encinitas Mindfulness Community led by Diana is a group of practitioners with varied levels of experience who come together weekly to study, meditate and share their experiences. We meet Saturdays, 7:30 AM and Tuesdays at 7:00 AM.
Our Thursday evening meetings will be held on elected Thursdays of each month at our outdoor meditation space at 816 Passiflora Avenue, Encinitas from 6:30 7:45 PM June 7 through October 18. Parking is available on the street. All are welcome to attend. There is no charge for the teachings and practice. Dana or donation is always graciously accepted.
Mindfulness Education for Groups and Corporations - Invite Diana to introduce mindfulness to your organization or group. Diana will focus her presentation to your organizations unique challenges, stressors, and concerns. Previously, Diana has

4-WK. SUMMER MINDFULNESS

We all know that mindfulness practice is something that is never perfected and always practiced. We will use the month of August to remind, repeat and review the most essential components of the mindfulness course in this shortened summer course. We are open to best days and times in August.
The cost for this course is $200.
FALL RETREAT: TO BE DETERMINED
OCTOBER 17 - 20, 2018
This 4-day guided retreat is designed to cultivate a deeper inquiry and practice into mindfulness practices and teachings.

2018 Mindful All-Day Retreat - SATURDAY, APRIL 7
The growth and development of your mindfulness occurs through the continued deepening and sustaining of longer practice periods. Sustaining practice for one or more days in extended practice periods shifts our attention and awareness inward to assist in accessing more continuous stillness and silence. Retreat practice is time out from your daily responsibilities, allowing for a rich and beneficial opportunity for practice and its benefits.
Retreat is held at Questhaven Retreat Center in San Marcos, CA.
Mindfulness graduates and friends are welcome to attend from 9:00am – 4:00 pm (Half day options also available upon registration)
$25.00 is a requested donation to cover the cost of the space. Dana or offering for the teachings and the teacher are graciously accepted and always welcome. There will be a basket for such offerings at the retreat site. Thank you always for your kindness and generosity!
