8 Week (MBSR) Course - This 8 week course requires a daily commitment of 35-45 minutes of mindfulness practice. We begin
by bringing a kind attention to our own bodies and breath. We expand our focus to include awareness during ordinary daily activities including moving, eating and interacting. Following brief guided instructions each day will lead to a significant increase in your well-being. Practicing mindfulness on a regular basis brings ease and well-being as well as many other health benefits into your life. The course led by Diana Shimkus, LCSW over the past 23 years is offered in North County (San Diego) in January, March and September of each year. Mindfulness retreats in October and April of each year are also offered.
Weekly Meditations - Practice with a community is an essential support in developing and sustaining mindfulness. The Encinitas Mindfulness Community led by Founding Teacher, Diana Shimkus, LCSW is a group of practitioners with varied levels of experience who come together regularly to study, meditate and share their experiences. We meet weekly on Saturdays; 7:30-9:00am and Tuesdays; 7:00-8:30am at Soul of Yoga at 627 Encinitas Blvd. Encinitas. We also meet on selected Thursdays of every month 6:00-7:30pm during winter months at our outdoor meditation space in Encinitas at 816 Passiflora Avenue, Encinitas. THE NEXT THURSDAY EVENING SITTING will be on JAN. 10, 2019 AT 6:00 PM. All are welcome to attend at no charge. Donations are gratefully accepted.
Mindfulness Education - Invite Diana to introduce mindfulness to your organization or group. Diana will focus
her presentation to your organizations unique challenges, stressors, and concerns. Previously, Diana has
spoken to scientists, teachers, care-givers, seniors, medical patients, coaches, hospice and palliative care
workers, corporate executives and their teams, attorneys and medical professionals.
