8 Week (MBSR) Course - This 8 week course requires a daily commitment to mindfulness practice. We begin
by bringing a kind attention to our own bodies and breath. We expand our focus to include awareness during ordinary daily activities including moving, eating and interacting. Following brief guided instructions each
day will lead to a significant increase in your well-being. Practicing mindfulness on a regular basis brings ease
and well-being as well as many other health benefits. The course led by Diana Shimkus, LCSW is offered in North County (San Diego) several times each year.
Weekly Meditations - Practice with a community is an essential support in developing and sustaining mindfulness. The Encinitas Mindfulness Community led by Diana is a group of practitioners with varied levels of experience who come together regularly to study, meditate and share their experiences. We meet Saturdays 7:30-9:00am, Tuesdays 7:00-8:30am, and the second Thursday of every month 6:30-8:00pm at Soul of Yoga in Encinitas All are welcome to attend for no charge. Donations are welcome.
Mindfulness Education - Invite Diana to introduce mindfulness to your organization or group. Diana will focus
her presentation to your organizations unique challenges, stressors, and concerns. Previously, Diana has
spoken to scientists, teachers, care-givers, seniors, medical patients, coaches, hospice and palliative care
workers, corporate executives and their teams, attorneys and medical professionals.
